Warchief vs. Warlord
Warchief vs. Warlord
My wife watches the Warriors with me sometimes and makes comments so silly I don't dare share them. But her favorite two scenes are the Vermin one liners:"....We might be here forever...." and the absolute funniest moment: "Are you kidding?"
"When we see the ocean we figure we're home, we're safe."

I have to agree with her on those. I always crackup at the "kiddin" line--can't help it!!!
He really did do a good job with the comic relief.

Warchief vs. Warlord
This is interesting... I'm not only extremely interested in this thread, it prompted me to register and post...
Prior to reading this thread, I never would have had a doubt about the definitions from the movie. Warlord = leader of the gang, Warchief = 2nd in command.
Now I'm not so sure. I'll watch the movie yet another time and listen a little closer.
Regarding the game, based on the manual, it sounds like they are 2 different definitions. I think the game gets confusing though, due to the War Chief commands. My opinion is, anyone in charge, whether Cleon or Rembrandt or Vermin, is the War Chief. Cleon, until killed, is the Warlord.
So for the game, it's like Square/Rectangle properties... Prior to his death, Cleon is Warlord but at times could also be Warchief, but Rembrandt could be Warchief but never be Warlord.
Well that's enough on the debate for me. I have this dream where Cleon is not getting smacked by the Riffs and/or having a night stick shoved halfway up his ass and he walks into the graveyard and straightens this all out.

Warchief vs. Warlord
I just read this entire thread...
Anyway, I just wanted to add that in the game warchief is whoever you(the player) is controlling at the time. This could be anyone from Cleon to Rembrandt. Their are also missions where Cleon will say, "Cochise, your warchief..." So I think the game refers to them as the samething. Since even when you are playing as Cleon, you are still referred to as warchief.

OK the Square/Rectangle relationship is a good way to put it. Anybody can be Warchief if they're in charge. But El presidente of the whole gang is Warlord (in my opinion). I hope this hasn't opened a big giant can of worms.

The game throws movie terms around like crazy. Like how many times do we hear "lame" when dealing with the Orphans.

i'll say it once and i'll say it again....
if it isn't from the movie, then it isn't a movie fact.
people keep bringing up the game to prove their points, well if thats the case, how about i bring up the remake when it comes out and use it to make claims about the original?
you see how that doesn't work? if the game was made in 1979, or near 1979, fine i'll believe it, but its 25 years later so the game don't mean jack!
i thought this was a most pointless discussion but now you got my panties in a bunch over this.

i wasnt tryin to prove a fact beacuse i really dont think any of you can prove it.....unless you can travel back in time, to a un real world...and ask the "war-blank" of this fiction gang. i was simply pointing somthing out....

Warchief vs. Warlord
Just to clarify, in case this was directed at me at all, I wasn't trying to use the game to prove any points about the movie. I need to rewatch for that. I was trying to show how the perceived inconsistencies in the game could be viewed in a consistent manner (not that they could be used to prove anything at this forum.)haterist wrote:i'll say it once and i'll say it again....

By the way, using the game as a reference tool I guess is beyond stupid. Since among a hundred other stupid things, Swan joined the Warriors by winning the "King of the garbage pile" contest. YEAH RIGHT.
