greetings from starcat

Post by starcat the cosmic toker »

whats up gang... ive been monitering the boards for a few weeks now, dropping posts here and there, and getting a feel for the board, really just making sure it wasnt just another weak site with disrespectful members like other movie sites that i have been too... but based upon what ive seen so far yall are just a group of cool cats... so now i'll introduce myself... on the net i go by starcat, the cosmic toker... and i like to think im a pretty cool guy...lol... i first saw the warriors when i was around 12 or 13, back in 89 i think it was... my cousins had seen it on tv ....so we went out one night and rented a vcr and a bunch of movies, the warriors being one of them... some of the others were actually roger rabbit, beetlejuice, no holds barred (with hulk hogan), and some random b horror flicks... i can remember these other movies because this was the night that i first saw the warriors, so everything else involved with that night just kind of burned into my brain. This movie blew my mind... i loved action and fighting movies... real big on schwarzenneger, stallone, van damme was making it big... but the warriors just seemed so raw, so real. even though i knew al the fights were choreographed just like all the other movies, they still didnt seem that fake... i was instantly in love with ajax, and when i say in love i mean the character... totally cool, could fight like a lion...but swan was the one i mostly related too.... only the opposite... because at the end, when hes looking at the city, its obvious hes thinking hed love to be somewhere else, and i always thought of him picturing some country home, with a pond and dog and stuff... and i always looked out and dreamed to be in the city... sounds dumb i know, but it just kind of struck a chord with me... anyway, i hope we can all be cool, and i can continue posting here with you guys, talking about one of my favorite movies of all time!!!!!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!! AJAX IS DA MAN

Hi, thanks for your post. It amazes me everytime people talk about The Warriors as there are so many aspects people look at it from, and it is one of those films which makes you think. The bit with Swan at the end of the movie is a good one as you wonder what happens next. Welcome to The Warriors community!

I like the way you likened yourself to Rembrandt. It gives me an idea for the site, "Which Warrior are you?". I'd like to be Vermin, though I don't quite have his way with the ladies (I'm certainly not Ajax!!). In reality I'm probably more like Cowboy, lol.
The one and only!
