Its a small world afterall. Have you ever see the two part episode of CHiPS that was directly sprung from the Warriors. It was about a gang and some graffiti king or something. There was also an Incredible Hulk episode with a Warriors flavor.

Eric Estrada was in an episode of Kolchak: The Night Stalker wearing a pink suit, yes pink! The was a scene where they had him in some Aztec getup and he had his chest shaved smooth for that. LMAO!

Actually one of Eric's very first acting jobs was as the gang Warlord Nicky Cruz in the movie: The Cross and the Switchblade. And he looked good in it too! the preacher was played by Pat Boone.
It too told the story of a New York City gang,The Mau Maus, and it was real life, and based on real people.
And that book and Nicky Cruz' own biography(Run Baby Run) says that he was Warlord because he did not want to be President, or vice-President cause Presidents had to direct the fighting, vice presidents had to be ready to take over if anything happened, and the warlords got to lead the fighting. And he was a fighter. He also talks about different styles of gang initiations too. And how one workes their way up the ladder in the gang hierachy.

In the bio --Nicky talks about how for Labor Day, many of the NY gangs had a truce and a lot of them would gather and not necessarily get together but everyone was allowed to enjoy the day at Coney Island, without fighting or rivalries----BUT if anything happened, they might carry it over into a rumble later on after the fact.

It was a good true story, the movie did not quite capture the hardness or all the inner stories of the book, and I loved Run Baby Run.
And up until a few years ago, Nicky Cruz was still doing revival appearances telling his story and trying to steer kids out of gangs. He and his wife also started a "house" for pre teen children in trouble and at risk out in California.
