Who is looking forward to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie? I enjoyed the first movie and have high hopes for the second and third (being filmed back to back).
The one and only!
Pirates
I enjoy Johnny Depp, one of my favorite actors and he was great in potc so I look forward to seeing his character again. Orlando Bloom on the other hand I dislike and dont really look forward to seeing him. Is it just me or does Keira Knightley who plays Elizabeth look just like Natalie Portman? Thats who I thought it was until I checked on imdb.

Pirates
Sorry folks I agree with LIONS on this one. The first one was just plain too long, the story went all over the place. All of those one liners and such drove me nuts, and I hate Orlando Bloom.
True story: I actually had no idea that the first one was made by Disney when I walked into the theatre (yeah I know, it's a ride...I'm an idiot...believe me it's been said...). So anyways I was expecting some real swashbuckling sword chopping action, but no.........The thing that bugs me is that you can't kill anyone in the movie really, so what's the point? Those pirates just want to be mortal again. Give 'em a break. Just give 'em your coin and give 'em some blood, and then you can either shake hands and wave goodbye as they mortally and happily sail into the sunset, or just blow the suckers away once the curse wears off. No big deal.
Because the first one was such a smash hit you know they're going to follow the same formula as before. I do like the natives though.
A friend and I had plans to make a poster board version of what we thought the first one should have been like, it would have been set during the American Revolution (cause the colonial gov't made pirating of British ships legal during the war), and they would've chased the English folks down into the Carribean/Yucatan Penisula. I would've thrown in the Spanish Armada someplace just for fun. I imagined the climax to be a massive French fleet, a massive british fleet, and a massive Spanish fleet clashing at once, with the one American boat kind of stuck in between things, trying to escape the fray (think the space battle in Serenity, kinda). Of course it's all kind of implausible for just poster board.
I did make a Godzilla posterboard movie though......

I liked the first film quite a bit in some ways (not so much in others) but, man, it was way too overplayed. Way too hyped. My friend's sister (and I hang out with this dude a lot) must've watched it three times a day.
