Another Blooper involving Cyrus

Post by Ranchgal »

Well in the deleted scenes Cleon says that they are 9 members picked from over 120 members, and affiliates. So the Warriors were a large family.

I seemed to me that Cyrus only invited gangs that had at least 100 members---because in the original script he says:

9 delegates from 100 gangs and there are 100 more--that is the 20,000 hard core members.
Then he states that with afficliates that number goes up to 40,000
and then he says there are 20,000 more not organized but ready to fight and that totals: 60,000 hard core street fighters that could become an army.
THEN he adds the women--and that is where he gets his 100,000 number==
DUDES and DEBS working together.

9 Members from a hundred gangs and over one hundred more adds to 1,800!

Anyone explain how he got to 20,000?

Was this deliberate or just bad maths?
I always thought this! It made no sense. I had forgotten about that for a long time. OK "..a hundred gangs":let's assume that each has 100 total members for the sake of adding. That's 10,000. "and there are over 100 more" If there are 100 more gangs, that would make a total of 20,000, but why weren't the other 100 gangs at the meeting?

Exactly!

Cyrus stated that everyon was standing WITH 9 delagates from 100 gangs. And there's over 100 more (meaning gangs).

He just mentioned the 'key players' thats why his math seems off a bit.

This was a movie there wasnt any need to show every 'Warrior' or every Orphan. Only enough to get the point across.

Cyrus' math was on point cuz he knows how many gangs are in the 'network'.

60,000 soldiers, now there aint but 20,000 police in the whole city, can you dig it? Can you dig it!? Can you dig it!?!

He meant the whole gang avg number of people per gang 100 x 100 = 10000 100 more would be 20000

adios

the warriors had more than 9 memebers i think b/c if u look at the deleted scences cleon says that theres like 100 sumthin

The Fox wrote:That's fair enough but, that is taking into account that every gang has 100 gangs. Gangs like the Punks and Furies didn't seem to have that many members.

Maybe Cyrus should have said. "The future is ours if you can't count!".

I don't really care what the totals come to just wanted to see others point of view on what i think is the greatest film ever!
When you see the furies and the punks, it is not all their members, it is just a patroll out looking for the warriors.

Also for the 20 000 hard core members, its 9 deligates from 100 gangs= 900, then over a hundred more, meaning over 100 more from each gang, its a variable since gangs will not have all the same member so im asuming he just used 20 000 as estimated number.

Do U agree?
Yeah, I definatly agree, he probably just decided to bring the 9 members that he thought would be best to have represent The Warriors.

Some of the gangs weren't in the Riffs network so they weren't invited. The Orphans being one such gang.

The numbers probably didn't need to be that accurate. He was motivating the troops and those numbers sounded good. You dig? In his plan of action, enthusiasm would play a big role.
