Re: Special Edition DVD is Happening!!!

Post by StevenFallonNYC »

*The Warriors themselves got into it a few times with some real gang members on location and really did start to believe that they were a gang capable of handling themselves.

This sounds ludicrious on the surface but I totally believe it. Something happens in you when you put on a certain uniform. It would have been a blast in one night during the shooting of the movie if a bunch of The Warriors took a subway ride for the helluva it with their colors on, not looking for trouble of course but just doing it. Imagine the cops giving them a hard time and them saying, "we're taking a break from shooting a movie!" The cops would be like, ok now we've heard everything, get in the van....
Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.

The rumour is that Paramount are working on a special edition DVD, so it looks like they took note! But I will keep you posted.

Demolition of original buildings

Post by Anonymous »

It would be great if the new DVD included a sort of documentary regarding the demolition of the oriiginal buildings which served as a setting for the movie poster. What I am talking about is that bathhouse which shows the name, "The Warriors" across the whole facade. Unfortunately, those buildiings don't exist anymore. They were demolished to make way for new ones. I was really pissed to find that out just a few months ago. I was fortunate enough to see the original when I visited Coney back in 1982. The place hardly looks the same from those original cut scenes we don't get from the DVD version.

You said it all...Why Not!??? They SHOULD DO IT

Wonderwheel said....."I would not mind having a special edition with a bit more features, afterall most of the cast members are still alive; interviews, director commentaries, deleted scenes, some stills would be cool. I think it would be nice."

I say why the hell not? They should! I can't believe that they HAVEN'T done this in the first place! Interview the actors, Walter Hill too, as well as commentary, stills. hell, even interview The Orphans, The head Riffs, etc. etc. get them all in on it....chances of this happening again (Full interviews) is next to nill. I say soak up as much info and interviews as possible and put it in a DVD. I'll go even further....RE-RELEASE the movie on the big screens in theaters babbyyyyyyyyy! Yeaaahhhhhhh!

I have the current DVD and for the life of me I feel like I should be working for The Warriors PR department for the re-release DVD in California or something. Give the people what they want.

-" This is a Graveyard!" - R.I.P. Rembrandt. Actor passed away from cancer years ago. I do remember him on the show 3-2-1 Contact when I was in school abck in the 80's. Thats why we should get these guys and girls on DVD while we can and put it out before its too late.

i'd love to see interviews with any and all people that had something to do with the movie. i'll bet there are some cool personal stories about the actors, gangs, and things that happened during filming.

i'd like to add to 'guest's' idea; footage of all the shooting locations, then and now, would be way cool!! :D
