The furries fight
What is up with the furries when they fight they stand ther and let eachother get pounded on ?why? Also the short furrie with blue face paint gets walked in the stomach by a baseball-bat and starts doing a weird walking thing on his tipee toes.
The furries fight
Because they wanted to see how well the guy fought.
And probably because that would have been dishonourable.

I would agree with the honor bit, the way the leader used his bat was like a samurai. They were very honorable so when the leader stept forward to take Ajax down they all just watched, aswell they probolly never thought of the possibility of their leader losing to some unarmed guy, Better luck next time boppers.

I'd have to disagree with the honor idea. It seems a lot more like lazy fight choreography than anything.
That really is a terrible fight scene, especially after the awesome buildup. This is a gang fight. Honor goes out the window. This is the Furies we're talking about. After the Furies saw their leader wasted by Ajax, they would have swarmed. How exactly did Ajax wind up sneaking behind that guy, anyway?
I think it could have been an awesome fight scene, had Walter Hill handled it differently. But, an all out melee like that is hard to film. Look at the Punks scene. That took a solid week of eleven hour days to film. My guess is that they just couldn't afford a complicated, drawn out fight scene like that with the Furies. Filming at night on location in New York City is incredibly expensive. They just didn't have the budget to do the fight the way they should have.

i agree, no honor here, this is a streetfight if they were really honorable they would have dropped the bats and fought on equal levels with the warriors, but i agree about the poor fight bit, i mean the furies stood there in the grass just chilling with bats ready staring around as the warriors pound on them! lol but still for back in the day i give hill props for that fight scene along with the punks fight, i actually froze my dvd player 4 seconds after the warriors break out of the stalls to see if everbody LOOKED like they had a purpose and if you do what i did you'll see everybody has their eye on somebody, everybodys engaging someone and everybody looks like their in a state of aggression, great fight scene.

i think they might have been stunned by what they just saw. i mean their leader did get beat off of an unarmed man who, in their eyes, was from a small time gang from coney. they were in shock

The furries fight
the furiers have a great way of fighting and thats them, every gang has a style and the baseball furiers do a great style, considering the furiers had bats, the warriors did well
warriors rules, basebal furiers rock too, but warriors domination is on and always will be on!
The furries fight
I think the furies behavior was very appropriate considering their mythological brethren. The furies were greek demigods who snipped your "thread" once they knew you were to die. No dealing, wheedling, or bargaining: you're dead. I think they felt this way in the movie; Cyrus sends word, and they'll "snip" the warriors. There was no need to talk, they knew their job. I guess they just didn't count on Ajax being such a badass.
The furries fight
I always look at that scene as "the mind torture fight". The Furies are maniacs, GREAT MANIACS, the way they run, like "boy... this is gonna be fun", it has nothing to do with protecting their turf or even making the alleged Cyruses killers pay. They wanna fight, they wanna hurt. I think you're right, this has nothing to do with honor. These are gangs and this one in particular carry baseball bats.
The Furie leader looks at Ajax with a smile on his painted face, he takes his time, shows him the bat..." Prepare yourself, this is gonna be painfull ", they all surround the 2..."we are in bigger number, and u can't scape". They wanna torture him, and they wanna make it last... but that "poor guy" was Ajax... And he wasn't alone, by the time the Furies saw that, it was too late.
