What made the fury fight dissapointing?

Post by Zen444 »

I know alot of you disliked the scene, so discuss what you found wrong with the fight.

One problem I had: Swan pulling samurai bullshit instead of focusing on the others.

When I read posts about the Furies.

People saying "There was such great build up with the Furies chasing The Warriors, and the fight turned out dissapointing."

The chase was awesome, but the fight was weak as hell.

I just can't get past the fact that the Furies stand there like idiots as their buddies get stomped.  What's with the guy that Ajax "sneaks" up on?  Is he blind or deaf or what?

And Snow doesn't do anything but hold a couple of Furies from behind.

I think the director should have tried to make it a more realistic rumble like the Punks fight was.  At least the Punks actually fought.

[glow=red,2,300]That fight was to get you thinking on how bad the warriors are, and by bad I meen good. So what they do is make the furies look so bad ass and then they get stomped by the warriors.[/glow]

i don't know...i rather enjoyed the fight scene.  i think that the editing could have been better so as not to let the audience see furies standing around waiting their turn at bat!!  :D

I would not necessarily say that the Fury fight scene was disappointing, because it was good and all, it just didn't really have much action in it, and the Furies just standing there - well I think that was kind of stupid, because seriously, who would just stand there and watch their fellow gang member(s) get beat on? But overall, I don't think it was too bad!

you gotta keep in mind, this movie is MAD OLD, the scene was awesome at the time but a little dated for todays movie standards.  not to mention, people back then didn't nitpick a film to death like they do today.  even a great movie will get torn apart by angry fans and even happy ones, people just love to hate.  :|

anyway, my only problem with the fight scene was it wasn't long enough.  they built the furies up and didn't really give them the screen time they deserved.  then again, if they showed a 20 minute fight scene with the furies, we'd all be sitting around saying why didn't they make the fight scene with the punks 20 minutes long?, or the turnbulls? etc. etc. etc.  like everything else in life, you gotta take the good with the bad.

It's just that, with all that running they did you'd expect them to have a bit more stamina in a fight.  Ajax leveled the leader with one punch, and even he was surprised at it, you know?

if u think about it ... :-k... snow really didnt have 2 hold the furies back. they were just standing there any way .and whats up with the way the fury ](*,)BARELY ](*,) bonking cowboy with the bat, but still having cowboy K.O.d through the whole fight :x. i know cowboys tuffer than that :doubt:.this fight gives me an empty feeling every time i watch it. its also very redundant, so repetitve and plain. :x

Karma Given  I like the philosophoical take on the whole scenario.

Don't forget about the guy who tried sneaking up on Ajax.

Didn't even look like he knew how to use a bat.

Well, I can't say that I was disappointed with the fight. I loved the Chase and buildup to the showdown like many of you, but ofcourse the Furies, sadly, had to be a stepping stone for the Warriors. If those Warriors were taken out by the Furies, due to the sheer strength of the Furies' numbers advantage, a part of the movie would have ended right there, heh, and we would have to watch Cochise, Rembrandt, and Vermin try to make it back to the C.I., and all the time, wonder what happened to Mercy as well. I do agree that since the Furies are one of if not the most popular gang to come out of the "Warriors" film, maybe some more time should have been allocated to the fight in the park, and maybe we could have seen a Fury or 2 show better strength, but alas, that was not meant to be. That chase was one of the coolest scenes I have ever seen in a movie, the fight may or may not have been all that, but I understand why, and I am content with it. Peace.
