My point is that people are makeing it a big deal to give it a bad image and try to get it not to be made, but it is going to happen no matter what. I mean most remakes will never be as good as the original, but the are made because all great movies desserve a sucky remake. Dont ask me why thats just how it is.
oh exactly!!
it's gonna be remade, no matter what!
and to be honest with ya, i hardly ever post in this section, because i don't really care about it.
it doesnt interest me.
i just wish they wouldnt mess with it at all!
ya know?

and we aint start no stuff!  ;)

If it don't follow the same basic script it ain't no remake, period.  If by all indications it is going to be a movie with the same title and perhaps a couple identical character names then it's basically a turd laying on the lawn. :p

It does follow the same basic storyline, it is about a meeting called by cyrus and he gets shot, and a gang called the warriors are blamed. They then have to make there way home, and if it is martial arts based then they will probably have to be bopping there way back as well. It is actually more like the original then everyone is makeing it to be.

Whats the point in remaking a classic and ruining it when you can just watch it again on dvd  :?.

because a remake of a movie is a show of great respect for that movie. It is also because every great movie needs a remake, and every remake is usualy sucky, but you cant stop it from happening.

actually, it is well known that the scum that are hollywood do remakes to get fat wads of cash. it's all for money, it isn't a show of respect, it's just ripping a film off for cash. all a remake really does is make a modern day piece of film. like dawn of the dead for instance, made in the 70's, dated but a perfectly good movie and here comes a remake set in modern day times for a generation of idiots who never watch old movies. in 20 years time they'll be remaking the matrix i can assure you.

when will hollywood learn?

Man if the directors wanna respect the movie then they can leave it as it is!

I think a large part of it is that Hollywood has just run out of imagination, and as movie studios are required to come up with a certain number of film ideas a year they settle for doing bad remakes.
