What makes the game a failure when compared to the movie?

Post by Zen444 »

1.The Fighting Engine: Now, if I remember correctly, the characters in the movie didn't use the same canned combo that is used over and over again.

2.Too violent compared to the movie.

3.Some characters not acting like their real life counterparts. That especially goes for Snow.

4.The Storyline. Making Vermin the cofounder is just... wierd.

5.The Fights: Just looked hackneyed instead of chaotic. Using weapons in a fight, looks and is really lame.

Rockstar could never craft something as good as The Warriors.

So, Zen...
The characters, the storyline AND the fighting? Damn, man. I'd say Rockstar did an amazing job with The Warriors. Can you honestly imagine any other company making this game? No disrespect.

I agree.
I never imagined Rockstar making The Warriors.
Hell, I would've never imagined a Warriors game.

2.Too violent compared to the movie.
Hmm yeah i highly agree this. Now dont get me wrong, im not some anti-violence dude BUT Walter Hill did say he didnt want the movie to be to violent, he wanted it to be almost to the extent of cheesy. He also stated that they added music to the Furies chase to lessen the tension and violence (a very good idea in my mind) kinda like telling people, hey this isnt real man, its just a movie! Im not a big fan of rockstar no more considering most of their games have been about some wimp with an ak-47 and although i liked this game, id consider it average due to errors concerning the movie and intense fighting.

i thought the game was great even though the violence was a little over the top.
they had to put weapons in there or the game wouldnt have been as fun i mean you would have been just using your punching and kicking combos over and over and that would have gotten repetative.

I think they did a great job with the story as u could imagine that as being a prequel to the actual film

i liked the game. the violence could of been toned down a bit e.g. no blood gushing out everywhere when you hit someone with a brick.
but other than that its a great game

most of the game was totally irrelevant to what happened in the film.rockstar should have done more research before blundering ahead with what they did.

Well, what would YOU have done different then?
The game builds up to what happens in the film and is almost word for word when it comes to it. You have to admit that it's cool that we get more of an insight into how and why The Warriors, as a gang, became. The feel, the look, I'd say it was very relevant, man. And the fact that most of the game characters were played by the actors themselves is hardly blundering ahead.
Just my opinion.

Hey Vermin! Ya I can understand what you mean. They shouldve done more research, for instance
in the movie Swan says "we aint even been up to the Bronx before" But in the game you go numerous times before the meeting  :? I wish they wouldve put more though into this.

i thought the game was great and the whole prequel and flashback side of it was cool.
rockstar did a great job of it and i didnt mind the violence.
also the weapons really added to the feel of the game being that they were just what you could find lying around the streets and there was hardly any guns.
although the end of the armies of the night game was weird, i mean a ghost cleon!?
neway my only dislike was the throwing system and the strength of the police, they were way too strong, there should have been more but weaker.

WHAT WOULD I HAVE DONE DIFFERENT?

i'll tell you.
i wouldnt have bothered trying to make it look as though any of the 9 chosen warriors started the gang.the mystery of who started the gang should remain a mystery.theres 120+affiliates in the total warriors set up any of the 120 could have started the gang.

i personally dont have a problem with the blood and gore thats what happens in brawls that get heavy theres gonna be blood splattered over a pavement somewhere.

my overall point of the game being totally irrelevant is the game should have been set to either the film or book more than adding something that looked good but was totally out of touch with the movie.

i think they should have made the chapters of the dvd into the missions and stretched them out to approximately the time it would have taken the gang to get through that obsticle.

MY OPINION KNOCKDOWN YOU WANTED IT YOU GOT IT!
