[cowboy rules]

I wasn't that fussy about goin'. A far as I was concerned it was just a normal night. Gte the train through to the Bronx, listen to that Cyrus guy's speech and back home. It was simple. Boy was I wrong. I was very wrong. That night changed my life forever.

The Meeting

The train ride was pretty crappy. We went for an hour, just talkin' and jokin' around. We finally arrived in The Bronx ans got off the train. I wondered how the hell we were going to get to the meeting. But it was simple enough. We entered the big space were the speech was. All I could see was a mass of colours. There was the Hi Hats, The Eliminators, The Turnbulls, The Jones Street Boys. Everyone was there. There was a low rumble of noice as everyone talked among therselves. Then suddenly the noise died away as Cyrus came out
"CAN YOU COUNT SUCKAS!!!???" He shouted. That made me jump a little. It was just his voice. So loud and demanding. He kept going on about how the future could be ours, and about this truce of his. Basically the guy wanted to control the city. ANd he needed us to do it. I thought it would be quite good. A little change. He kept going on, recieving cheers from the crowd. I saw The Fox move into a better position so he could see what was going on. After that I kinda drifted off a bit. The guy just kept talking. I didnt really care what we were going to do, that was up to Cleon. Suddenly I was brought back to reality when I herd him shout.
"Can you dig it......Can you dig it.....CAAAAN YOOOUUUU DIIG IIT????" He bawled. The whole crowd just erupted. Everyone started cheering, including myself. The noice was deafening. I was surprised the cops hade'nt showed up yet. Everyone kept on cheering, then out of nowhere BOOM! The whole place went silent. I watched as Cyrus was thrown back off of his podium and onto the ground below. Everyone fell deadly silent. The it erupted again. The lights came flashing on, sirens blared and everyone started running in all directions. I followed Ajax and Snow as we ran against the crowd, just as Cleon told us. We ran for about 10 secondsm and I turned to see Cleon jump the bannister and walk away. I also saw The Fox and Rembrandt close behind me. We kept running until we came to a dead end. I was beginning to panic but then Swan and Ajax started punching this fence. And it actually came open. We ran through the hole and into a graveyard. We kept runnoing until we found cover in the cemetery. I was running and tripped over something. I got back up and took cover behind a grave stone.

The Turnbulls

We left the graveyard after we were sure there was no cops around. We walked through the winding streets utnil we came to this tunell. The rain was teaming down now, bouncing off the ground. It was freezing! I shivered as we stopped under shelter and tryed to take in our surroundings. And before I knew it Swan was ordering us off again. Swan.... he's a great Warlord. Always keeps his coll and gets the job done. Anyway we ran in the pouring rain for about 5 minutes until we were under the train station, in Gunhill. AC Territory. We stood about 200 metres away from the station entrance. There was no one about. Some of the boys started to get annoyed.
"What kinda chicken shit crap is this?" I heard Ajax say from behind me.
"Yeah come on man we here. What we waitin for?" Cochise said.
"A train would help, unless you wanna get japped on an open platform" The Fox replied. The argument went on.
"Bullshit man there aint nobody on the streets" Cochise said
"Yeah were acting like faggots" Ajax retorted. We stood there in our group waiting. I was starting to get nervous. It was like Swan knew something was going to happen. Just then a big thing pulled round the corner. We could see the headlights in the distance
"Just keep talkin'" Swan said. We all looked at the giant object coming towards us. I saw Ajax squint his eyes a bit. Then we saw what it was. A big green bus. Full of Turnbulls. Swan told us to get in and we ran into shadows. He sent the Fox to investigate. It was when we saw that bus that we knew the truce was off. The Fox ran to see what was happening. I was sure it was going to drive away. When Fox was looking at the bus our train pulled in
"Thats our train, we gotta make it" I heard Vermin say. Then the unthinkable happened. The bus turned round and came back the way. It was the worst thing possible. Fox came running back and asked Swan if we were going to go for the train. Without a word he ran out into the street and we followed. I sprinted as fast as I could and could hear the shouts of the Turnbulls over the pelting of my feet hitting the ground. It was the scariest thing ever. We kept going, my thighs burning like never before. Finally we came to the stairs without being run over and ran towards the train. The doors were just about to close as we dived through them. The train pulled away and I saw the AC's coming outside. We were ok. We had got away. We were heading back to Coney.

The Orphans

I was wrong. We werent going back to Coney. We thought we were. Actually we were sure we were. We cheered on the train. Then Swan told us the when we got there that was when we had made it. When he said that I felt a little bit of doubt enter my mind. It was like he knew something was going to happen, like it was going to be harder than we thought. And something did happen. It came in the form of a fire. We pulled up to Tremont only to find out there was a fire on the tracks.
"This is [bad word deleted]in' impossible" I said
"What the [bad word deleted] are we gonna do....aw this sucks" I heard Vermin whine. Rembrandts voice came from the back
"Why couldnt it rain now" He said. Then The Fox said something. Something that struck me as odd.
"Maybe we oughta worry about who set that God damn fire" I dont know why it sounded wierd but it occured to me that someone could have started it deliberately. It was probably an accident but I was becoming pretty paranoid by this point. Swan then ordered us off the train and we left the station. I still don't know how the cops never seen us though. We walked through the deserted street of Tremont in silence. We came to another road and we all stopped. I saw Swan looking up towards the rooftops. I looked up too. Some guys in what looked like green t-shirts
"Weve had it" I think the Fox said
"Yeah I made 'em. 2 there and 1 there" Swan replied
"I think they made us" Fox replied
"Recognize them?" Swan asked
"Yeah Orphans, so far down they ain't even on the map, real low class" Fox said
"Numbers" Swan simply asked
"Full strength maybe 30" Fox replied
"Yeah, well 30's alot more than 8" Vermin said
"Not if they're wimps and I'm sick of this runnin' crap" Ajax said. Typical Ajax. Always wanting to fight, never wanting to run. Swna led us through the strrets again. Finally we came to a group of about 9 Orphans. They stood there and silence then looked at us. Then the guy, who was probably the leader, started walking up to us. He clicked his fingers at an Orphan and he ran into the buildings.
"You know were that cats headed right?" I said
"Yeah reinforcments" Rembrandt replied. Swan told us to keep it shut and not get lippy to the Orphan. Some of the boys gave him a dig about that but Swan, being the guy he is, ignored it and went with Fox to see what was happening.
"Maybe y'all wanna show me your invitation" The Orphan said, trying to act tough
"How do you figure?" Swan replied
"Well you come armying down here, invadin' our territory, no permits, Parley"
"Were not invading, and I'm parlying right now"
"We were just at that big meeting up in the Bronx, we were goi' back to Coney, train gets messed up by the fire and dumps us here" The Fox said
"I dont know what you're talkin' about man, how can this be a big meeting if the Orphans was'nt there?" The Orphan Leader said. Ha! That will always stick in my head. These guys actually thought they were heavy. These near-hobos thought they were a solid outfit. The guys kept talking
"Look you didnt miss anything a lot of heads got busted" The Fox exxplained
"What y...y...you think the Orphans aint with it? You think The Orphans aint well known?" The Leader snapped
"We didnt say that" Swan tried to reason
"We got a heavy rep. You mess with us and you'll find that out" The Leader said. They were getting lamer by the minute. Then he snapped for this chubby guy to come over to him.
"They write about our raids in the paper" The Leader said. Hre we go, I thought. These toys were really pulling out all the stops. The fat Orphan handed Fox what looked like a piece of paper.
"Hey this is pretty heavy, The Orphans right? Yeah my youth worker talks about you guys all the time" Fox said
"We aint got one" The fat guy said. I had to stop myself from laughing. Fox really put himself in it there.
"Well maybe thats 'cause you guys are so bad they're afraid of you" Fox aid to them. Hahahahaha. My god. Such crap excuses. And they bought it. They actually bought Fox's act.
"Its ok if you pass through our territory as long as you come in peace" The leader said. Then someone made a chicken noise behind his back. I looked up and saw a chick in  a pink top and a long skirt. She looked quite hot.
"Cut it Mercy" The Leader said, making Mercy laugh
"Those vests are nice. Come on gimme one" She said
"No chance" Swan told her
"You gonna just let an army march right through here when ever they feel like it. Pretty soon every gangs gonna boogy right in, soldier right through. Hmph, some man you are" She said to the leader. This obviously annoyed him as he turned to Swana nd the Fox
"Take of your colours and you can go through" He said. Swan shook his head
"We dont do that" He said
"Its just our mark it dont mean were at war" Fox said
"Hey you hear me, take off your colours" He said again
"[bad word deleted] you" Swan said. At that the Orphans walked back inside. Swan and the Fox came back and we headed off again. We walked round the corner laughing at the way Swan and Fox put the Orphans down. We noticed that the Mercy chick had'nt went in. Swan told us to wait in the shadows to see if she came. And what d'ya know? She did. She strolled round th corner coming to see where we had gone. I could se her looking up and down the street for us. She must have thought we had got scared and ran. Of course there was no chance of that. We waited until she came walking over, next to us. Then Ajax creeped up behind her silently and grabbed her by the mouth and pulled her over to us. Thats when we came out of hiding. Swan walked over to her. We could hear here trying to shout. Ajax seemed to be enjoying himself but Swan told him to let her go. Ajax obeyed.
"So what did you have in mind?" Swna asked her
"Well maybe I'm just lookin' for some real action" Mercy said. At that point I thought she was a whore. But who was complaining?
"Hey what about me....I got the big one" Vermin joked. Then Ajax had his shot. He was dealy serious thoguh
"I'll give it to ya baby" He said spinning her round.
"Let her go" Swan ordered him. I could see that Ajax wasn't happy about that. Swan grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Maybe we oughta pull a train on you. You look like you might even like it" Swan said. Then Mercy retaliated
"Fuck you!" She said. Swan tightened his grip
"Real tough chick" He said. At that moment we heard the banging of feet on the ground. I knew what it was before I even tunred round. The Orphans. And near enough all 30 of them. The leader was holding a razor
"YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WARRIORS!? YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MET WITH THE ORPHANS" He shouted. What a chump, I thought, Even with a blade Swan could wreck his ass in a minute, but I didn't fancy our chances against 30 of them. We never said anything, but Snow pulled a small molotov cocktail from around his neck. I saw Swan put his hand down to Mercy's skirt and tear a bit of cloth off. He turned round with the cloth lit and looked at the Orphans. Their eyes widened in horror. Swan stepped forward then launched the bomb at a nearby car. The Orphans just stood there and looked at it. The suddenly, out of nowhere, Swan shouted "NOW!" And we all ran. Just as we got by the car it blew up and tunred into one big fireball. The Orphans turned and ran, but we continued to run in the opposite direction. They could come back any time. We ran for about 30 seconds and came to the train station. We all piled in ran towards  the trin. We made it with time to spare. Vermin, Ajax and Snow hung out the door.
"Hey I got a question. Why we runnin'?" Vermin asked. The train pulled away and they stepped back inside.
"Hey what about me?" Mercy moaned
"So what about you?" Ajax said, trying to tell her she was just an inconvienance and was not important. The train pulled off and we continued on our journey home.


Hey thanks for the great feedback, and wigan warrior you're right I did rush it. Its because I was just leaving and I never wanted to do it all again. I hope you all enjoy it!

The cops and Furies

It was gut wrenching. The tension that was in the air as we sat on the train at 96th street. It felt as if we had stopped for hours and we had been there less than a minute. Vermin whined the worst.
"I'm sick of waitin for trains" He said like a little baby.
"Vermin, sit down and shutup" Swan put him in his place. Vermin obeyed and sat back down. We heard footsteps after that. Long, clicking footsteps that sounded like death itself was approaching. I saw the anxiety on everyones face as we could hear them. We waited in silence for the person to show themselves. Then as he walked past the window I heard Swans hout "GO". The cops. We all sprinted out of the train and onto the platform. Everyone got split up and I ended up following Swan, Ajax and Snow. We rocketed up thje stairs towards the exit. We kept going with the cops in hot pursuit. Finally we saw a sign that said 'Exit to street'. We flew up the stairs and crashed out the station. We had all turned around to see where the cops were.
"Were are they1?" Ajax said anxiously as we all turned round. I truned round and saw the worst possible outcome that could have happened. 7 Guys all standing with baseball bats, face paint, and baseball uniforms. It could only mean one thing. The Baseball Furies. My stomach lurched as I caught the eye of the Yellow faced one.
"Maybe we better take off" Swan said
"Yeah right" Ajax agreed and with that we ran away from the station, round the corner. All four of us ran for our lifes. I could hear the frieks footsteps behind us as they gave chase. I could just imagine being surrounded by those guys and their bats. I kept running. It was best not to think of that. We kept sprinting, my legs beginning to tire, until we came to the bottom of a hill
"Did we lose these fuckin' clowns or what?" Ajax panted
"Look" Swan pointed up the hill. The yellow Fury came fleeing over the hill with his bat tucked under his arm. They were unstoppable
"Holy shit" Someone said behind me as we took off again. We bolted down the street and into the park. The Furies were catching up. The park had an eerie feel to it. No one was about. We ran down a ramp and the Furies still followed. We came to a clearing of trees and Swan and Snow broke off, trying to draw the Furies apart I suppose. It never worked. They all concentrated on me and Ajax. My heart sank. I could feel my legs starting to go. I couldnt go much longer and these creeps were right up our asses. We kept running for another minute or so when I couldnt bare it any longer.
"I cant make it" I said to Ajax
"You sure?" He said
"Yeah I'm sure" I panted back
"Good"he said. Good!? I was going to get beat to death and that was a good thing? Then he said
"I'm sick of runnin' from these wimps!" We both stopped and tunred round. Immediatly Ajax wen for a Fury, knocking him down instantly. The before I could do anything I took a bat to the stomach then to the face. I flew back and my hat fell off my head. As I landed on the grass, I lay there barely concsious. I could hear Ajax's voice in the distance.
"I'm gonna shove that bot up your ass and turn you into a popsicle!" He sai. Then all I heard was muffled grunts. There was fight. I hoped Ajax was'nt getting wasted. Then all I heard was
"Fuckin' hey" Ajax. He had won. Then I heard more footsteps and thats when Swan and Snow must have entered the fight. I willed every nerve in my body to stand up but they wouldnt obey. My eyes started to feel heavy and I was about to fall asleep. I tried my hardest not to pass out. My head was throbbing and I was winded badly. Then I felt someone pick m up.
"Come on Cowboy" The voice said. I opened my eyes and saw a blurry Swan in front of me. I managed to stand and with a dazed look on my face picked a bat up. We had actually won. It was a miracle. We walked toward the exit of the park.

After we wwalked for about 5 minutes we saw this fine looking woman sitting on a bench. We greeted her like gentlemen and walked by. Ajax was bit obseesed with her to sy the least.
"Hey maybe she dont know its not safe after dark" He said.We tried to convince him not to go but he wouldnt listen, as usual and walked over to her. We walked away and went to make our way to Unuion Square. We came to these steps and me and Snow stopped Swan
"Hey...we should go look out for him" Snow said
"Yeah he saved my ass back there....I owe him" I told Swan
"Ok you guys go get 'im , I'l go look for the others" Swan said walking away. Me and Snow made our way back to Ajax. We came out a bunch of trees to see Ajax being put in a police car. I tried to help but Snow stopped me. There was nothing I could do. I felt so useless. And to this day I've never met Ajax again. Maybe hes got a better life now. Anyway me and Snow made our way back to 96th Street to get the train to Union Square.

The Punks

After the Furies fight I started to feel woosy. The last thing I needed was another fight. My head pounded from when I got nailed on the head with that Furie's bat. My whole body ached. Me and Snowball kept walking through 96th street station. There was no sign of the Fuzz by now. We continued walking and went down a dark tunnel were the tracks led. We walked for ages before we seen light. Finally we reached Union Station and we went on the search for the others. The place was huge. How we were supposed to find each other I didnt know. Me and Snow walked around for a good ten minutes before we found the guys, minus Ajax, Fox and Cleon of course. But Swan was missing too. I started to worry. What if there was a team wasting him right then? We exchanged few words when we met, then we went looking for Swan. The Five of us walked through the station keeping an eye for Swan. Rembrandt told me how they met the lizzies and how he had got slashed. It had been some night. First there was Cyrus, then the AC's, then The Orphans, then the Furies. Man I was shattered by then. We continued to walk until we saw Swan talking to Mercy. He spotted us and looked to the side. In silence we looked too. Three guys standing in overalls. The Punks. We knew there would be a showdown. Sielntly Swan led us into the restroom. We all bundeled into cubicles and awaited the Punks to come in. I heard the door open and feet shuffling in. I heard the chains in their hands. Feet went past my cubicle but never stopped. It was the most tense moment all night. Then I heard the c0ommotion down a few doors. A door opened then I heard a spraying sound and flesh hitting flesh. Then everyone burst out of their cubicles. There was a Punk right in front of me when I came out. I punched him square in the nose and started beating on him. He fell down eventually and Im oved on. Picking up a bat, I clobbered a Punk on the back of the head sending him flying. There was chaos everywhere, mirrors being smashed, toilets being broke, bodys lying everywhere. In a matter of minutes we destroyed them. Punks bodies lay lying everywhere. Swan gestured us out the door.
