Idea about no guns

I still think it would not be beyond the realm of belief to keep the time in present day and not have gratuitous gunplay. look at the original movie:

Gangs The Warriors Faced

Turnbull AC's - Warriors didn't fight them, they just ran. Don't know for sure what the Turnbulls might have been packin' (except for 2x4's)

Orphans - Well, as Fox said, "They're so far down they ain't even on the map." Any gang whose colors consist of dirty green t-shirts with the name magic markered on the back most likely won't have the scratch to come up with serious hardware.

Baseball Furies - obviously guns are not what these guys are into

Lizzies - Packin serious heat. At least 2 of them opened fire. Should spend some time at the range though.

Punks - Seemed to me to be just a shade above the Orphans. Preferred the more traditional knives and chains.

Rouges - Packin' heat

Riffs - Seemed to have some kind of Zen/Zulu thing goin' on here. Most likely look down on guns and more into martial arts or beatin' down on people with those hockey sticks.

So, of the 7 gangs the Warriors come in contact with, we know for sure that at least 2 of them were packin' heat. It wouldn't be that hard to work that into the remake. Maybe instead of having a girl gang that couldn't shoot straight, have another gang attempt a drive by or something. Maybe one of the Warriors would even be killed during this attack (instead of getting busted in the park or thrown in front of a train by a cop)

different time man, back then drive-by's were almost non-exsistent, gang's fought! they're all cowards now! everybody's afraid to take an ass-kickin!! if they even remotely update it, you can bet you ass that a lot more than 2 of the gang's will have gun's!! and the 2 that had gun's in the original basically had to, the lizzies were well chick's (sorry ladies!) what? were they gonna kick the warriorss asses? and the rogues were the biggest bunch of pussy's, i've ever seen! look at thier leader! cleon put the whup-ass on three of em, before the riffs came down on him! by the way check out the riff right behind cleon, when he elbow's luther, he moves out of the way so luther can hit the ground! lol p.s. the drive-by idea to get rid of one of the warriors as opposed to cops or getting thrown in front of the train, i like it!! good idea, it would fit in with updating the movie. but not 2 much drive-byn!

No, I don't want to see this turn into Menace II Society, but I'd rather see a little gunplay, with the story set in either the present day or the past, then the movie set in some kind of surreal or post apocaliptic future where guns are banned because of the dramatic rise in gun violence. If that were the case, Charlton Heston would call a gang meeting.

Plus we gotta figure if they stick to the original nine delegates, a couple are gonna have to go cause you know they all won't make it back to Coney. (or Battery Park )

i think the meeting is gonna be on someone elses turf so when the warriors (if there even called that) run in to them theyll only have homemade weapons they have found or made
