Anybody like Korn or Slipknot?

Korn is pretty good and I would say Slipknot is great and does some of my favorite songs, but I am not too huge of a fan of them. Both great bands.

Ya know what... I was watching telly last night, flickin' thru the channels, when I saw Slipknot performing Live somewhere or another in front of a MASSIVE crowd. Now I'm not really into their music, but I watched it, and was completely blown away by the song they were singin' and their on-stage presence. It was bl@@dy amazing! Near enough the whole crowd were singin' along. Not sure what song it was but I've had the tune in my head since I've seen it. The bloke with the long nose (the drummer) had this bat and he was jumpin' all over the place beating the side of his drums in time with the song. I gotta say I was impressed

I used to be a huge fan of slipknot but I've sort of lost intrest in them. Still a KoRn fan though, their self titles album is a modern metal masterpiece.

Not really. 2 friends of mine are obssesed with Slipknot and Metalica.

I was wondering the same exact thing. Out of all the times I have ever listened to Slipknot or Korn, I have never heard them ranting about wanting to kill themselves. Or maybe I am mistaken and I wasn't able to understand what it was that they were screaming?

That's because people love to go on stereotypes for music they don't understand. Some people call heavy metal "just screaming" but couldn't you say the same for opera music, which is considered the most beautiful music in the world by many?

I don't recall Korn or Slipknot ever talking about killing themselves in there songs. Slipknot is not "screaming band" either, they let there feelings out with instruments.

I dont want to get into an agrument here cause I try to respect peoples like's but th slipnot song "f*ck this world" and other songs like it talk about cutting and stuff like that.As for korn I have heard a couple songs by them one was just soft music by one person the whole song,and the other started out soflty too but then came on the screaming.

The thing is with metal music though, it's a great outlet for energy. "Scream" vocals are as essential as the guitar. Screaming doesn't mean something bad.

One of my favorite bands is the extremely heavy grindcore band Totalt Jävla Mörker. You might shrug them off as another scream band but the fact is that the words they're actually screaming are trying to spread thought for equality and against segregation as well as very politically motivated lyrics as well.

But you're of course entitled to your opinion, I respect that you don't like metal music. We've all got different tastes after all
