LOOK MAGAZINE--March 13th--WARRIORS!!!
Someone just sent me this article that I described in "why fox left"
WELL it is NOT a Michael Beck article or interview---IT is an interview with :
Walter Hill -Director
Sol Yuricks-Writer
Lawrence Gordon-Producer
Michael Beck-Swan-Actor
David P. Kelly-Luthor-Actor
Debra Van Valkenberg-Actress-Mercy
Frank Marshall-exectutive producer
AND TONY SCOTT-director of REMAKE!!
It has some pictures of the original movie, some current pictures of involved people, and some pictures of general interest as to some of the crap they had to put up with.
The interviews discuss everyone's reactions to the filming, what they had to go through, the ups and downs,
AND some of the things that DIDN't HAPPEN because they had to be changed to get through the studio's approval ratings systems==
(This is the SWan is captured, part, tortured, and beaten-he escapes and rejoins the gang to get home, that JamiePikee referred to and I didn't think existed-I was wrong! BUT my reasons were valid as to why it was never filmed that way-LOL)
IT is great---the magazine in available nationwide US-and I know Barnes and NOble has it, and they do mail orders and on line orders--!
Don't miss it if you have the choice!!! HONEST!!!! I was told that this is put out by Entertainment Weekly--so if you can't find it, you may be able to go to their website and ask them how to get it.

Picked up the issue yesterday. It's a good article but it could have been longer..ex. David P. Kelly has one comment. At least this shows that some of the players still like talking about the movie and gives me hope for an eventual commentary SE DVD. Could hardly recognize Michael Beck with white hair and beard!

OK, I just checked out the article, reading it in true NYC fashion at the magazine section at Tower Records on 4th (great selection, crappy prices) without buying it. It's definitely a good article, although I agree, too short. Some very cool insights and stories on the movie, that would only have you believe that any commentary track on a future DVD would absolutely kill. Beck still looks decent for his age. Very cool pic of the protesters in front of te theater playing "The Warriors." I didn't realize or remember that the studio kinda let the film fade away and die in the theaters in 1979 because of all the pressure and controversy. I do agree with how can you do a remake with everyone and his uncle having a freaking gun nowadays. Great pic of Rembrandt and that dude. All in all a very good article, although with a film like "The Warriors" it really needs a full-length tribute magazine of its own.

A buddy of mine gave me his copy of LOOK last weekend and it's on it's way to Gareth in the UK. I've looked and looked all over Dallas, Texas and San Antonio, Texas for another copy, but haven't been able to find one. Every Barnes & Noble store I've called doesn't have any...
All in all, I think it was a really good article, but like others said, a tad bit too short. I liked the gang pissing on them story and the pic of Swan freaked me out. He looks good, but REALLY different...

Well Michael Beck appeared as a guest star in Dec. in JAG without the beard, and he still looks Hot in my opinion, course he always looks good with his hair styled--but then I am old too!!
but I have seen pictures with him with a beard before, and he does look really good in that picture. I think he is going for the "literary look" as he is now writing/finishing a novel set in Southern US. Maybe that is the picture he will put on his book cover when it get published.
Wouldn't be the worst advertisment for it. LOL
