Questions for Jamiepikee(Fox)

In my other thread about not having any guns you provided some good insight from that script you bought. I have a couple of questions that I would really appreciate if you could answer.

1. You stated that the Warriors are now from the battery, not Coney. Is the meeting they attend still in the Bronx, cause thats a much closer distance to the Battery than C.I. ?

2. What, off the top of your head, if any has carried over from the original in terms of Gang Names, Characters, ect. ?

3. Does the story still take place primarily over the course of 1 night ?

4. I know you already explained about the ban on guns, but is the fighting completely hand to hand, or do the gangs use weapons such as bats, chains, ect. like in the original ?

5. Does the subway play a major role like in the first one, or are they on foot or stealing cars now ?

Thanks in advance for whatever info you can provide. I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, but your just about the only person who has any "official" info on what direction this film is headed, although I know you just have a first draft and that could be completely changed by now. :)

Don't spoil anything for us just let us know if somethings are the same and what might be changed.
I just hope they keep the gangs and the Mesiah. (Riffs Leader)

I also have a question Jamie Alot of talk about this "girl warrior" being put in the remake. Are there now 10 warriors or 9 with 1 origianl character cut? and Do the characters still have the same names as the orignals ex. Ajax?
We're going in there like everybody else nine guys no weapons

yeah you will, as it does tend to drag at times. i remember reading it when i was young, and again just recently, because my little girl LOVES the warriors she probably knows as much as anybody on here, just about. and she's reading it now. and i found myself pushing myself to get through some parts. it really drift's away sometimes, which i know that's what a book does, gives you more insight into character's thought's, surroundings, etc. that a movie does not, but man! so yeah you got time, that book will take ya a day or two, by choice, or otherwise.
Tried to give the devil my soul...
She said i had nothing to bargain with...

In my own mind, I think I tend to believe that the Remake Warriors will have about as much to do or be like the Original Warriors---about as much as the Original Warriors were like the Book.
I think we will be seeing a completely different look/feel movie with the Remake than the look/feel we got with the Original movie.
And the ORiginal Movie was a LONG WAY from the Book.
That is of course just speculation on my part--but I won't be surprised if it turns out to be true.

Because having the Remake come out anywhere near like the ORiginal was;

would be TOO GOOD TOO BE TRUE--just my own opinion.

but we can all hope.

I have a feeling that when I see this remake I won't even realize that I'm watching the Warriors remake. It's going to be so damn different. They should just give this movie a different name and at the end of the movie give a credit to the Warriors novel and original movie.

The more I see and hear about the upcoming Amityville Horror remake, the more I'm liking it. :D Lots of images bring to mind the original (The Priest, 3:15 on the clock, the babysitter, "GET OUT!!!") Of course they changed some stuff (supposedly to make it more like the book than the original movie), But it looks like they managed to pull it off.

It is also based around the same time that the Warriors was made & they managed to give it that "70's" look & feel.

Maybe this writer/director should tackle The Warriors [-o<
