Most Overrated Band?

You wouldn't call it a fad if they were pro-bush would you?

But not to turn this into a political debate, I have to admit that Nirvana are a bit overrated even though they're one of my favorite bands. They're good, damn good, but the music itself isn't quite as new or groundbreaking as made out to be.

Not saying they're bad, 'cause personally I think they're excelent but I certainly think they're overrated for having "god" status.

True, there are msot liely several people who jump on the anti bush bandwagon with no political eknowlege, but I'll bet you theres just as many bush supporters who have no idea what his politcs are but suppoort him purely on the basis of him being the president.

It works both ways, just that one of the groups gets more attention.

U2 is a good band and I dont think they are over rated. I just dont like them as much because they really arent my tatse. The bands I think are over rated would be

Cold Play
Green Day
Poisen
As for one of you that said AC/DC was over rated. You Must Be INSANE! But your allowed to have your opion.

I gotta say Fall Out Boy is pretty overrated. They were all over the radio with Sugar We're Goin Down and i missed it cuz I pretty much never listen to the radio. I heard the song 5 months later and I'll admit, it's a good song, but I mean, please. They're not THAT great.
Also, a bunch of girls at my school like ICP and they're okay, but they're WAY overrated.

The problem with this thread is that musical entities rarely cross all the genre lines.  Therefore, a God, in one musical universe, is lower than low in another.  I get the original theory of being over-rated, like WallyWorld, but with something as personal as music, its a dangerous game.  Remember when a newcomer made the mistake of referring to one Elite member's favorite band as O.R.  Boy was he sorry.
