macross toys:  i started with 1 toy for nostalgia sake but so far i've spent somewhere near $4k-$5K.     i got some issues according to friends/family/girl.

I don't play with them, I just collect them damn it!!! When I was a kid I couldn't buy the toys that I wanted, 'cause I didn't have the money, but now $*%#, I am taking revenge! I kinda feel like that guy from the movie "40 Year Old Virgin", nobody understood his hobby!

i started collecting toys for the very same reason.  when i was a kid, my folks never had any real money so i didn't get much in the ways of toys.  don't get me wrong, they hooked me up when they could but it wasn't like we were rolling in dough, a GI joe figure here and there, maybe a transformer if i did good in school.
but now that i'm a grown up, i have the desposible income to buy the stupid things my folks never got me.  i'll buy whatever, take it out of the box, put it on a shelf, and stare at it every once in while.  its not like i'm setting up battle scenes and swooshing things around my living room.     its about reliving my youth more than anything else.
and speaking of 40 year old virgin, someone from the macross site i frequent made this avatar which i thought was really funny....

I remember this guy made fun of me once, he is like: "Well, I collect Gucci shoes and that's more normal than collecting toys" and I am like: "So!, my Blue Face Fury alone is worth more than you Gucci shoes, so kiss my a$$!.

this is what i don't get?  who cares whats more normal, we all like what we like.  if you like shoes, so be it, but i'm not going to make fun of you for it.  not only that, but a $10 batman figure thats been played with will have more value in the future than a used pair of gucci shoes....i mean who the heck buys used shoes?
now that being said, i'd rather be a not so normal geek that collects toys, than a sissy girlie man who collects shoes...i mean sneakers i can understand but shoes?
I totally agree with you haterist and lions, same story here My mother would never get me anything I want, cause we were poor, and i wanted to go to concert's but we were poor, now my revenge is collecting and going to concerts.
Next to Warriors memorablia,I collect concert videos and live bootleg CD's
And i have a huge CD collection, and DVD collection and I collect Bret Hart Stuff as well and have vintage Wrestling videos and DVD's too :D
,My god i think I'm running out of space here.
It probably my Comic-book collection,i use to intern at Marvel Comics and they use to give me all these comics for free, only to find out years later, that, even this is too much stuff to have?

I collect anything I can find Warriors related. If it says Warriors... I'm gettin' it. I also collect action figures (I have boxes on top of boxes of action figures.)

Anything X-Men, Lord of the Rings, X-Files, Ghostbusters, Led Zeppelin, or Bruce Willis, I gotta have it. :-P I'm a huge comic fan also, my ex-wife has my big box of comics (which she's supposed to send out) and I have a pretty nice stack of 'em here with me.

Last but not least, I collect poetry. But only my own. :-P Everything I have ever written, I've saved. Merely a few feet from me is a large stack of notebooks just full of crap I've written over the past 8 years or so.
Nobody lip off... nobody get hot.

Add my film page on myspace.
