I?ve been wondering about the words that Masai spoke in the move "Who are the Warriors? There must be som word!" As I understand Masai should?ve been the second in comand for the Riffs and the leader after Cyrus was shot. But when he speak the quoted words above it seems to me that he does?nt know that the Warriors even exsist. I mean if he is the new leader he may not have the information but someone in thier gang/network should know for sure. I mean the Warriors are 120 + in their street family and should make some noice.
Or am I just stupid? Maybe Masai is asking the question cause he wants to know if the Warriors should have a cause to waste Cyrus?
Comments pelase!!!
Who are the Warriors?
Who are the Warriors?
But this is a graveyard...
Re: Who are the Warriors?
Hopefully i get this but i dont think the Riffs would have known the warriors because the Riffs are in the Bronx and the warriors are in Coney Island. Even if they did do somthin big the Riffs probaly would not have known about it since the Warriors are just a small time group.
I hope i helped if not sorry man.

Re: Who are the Warriors?
some Riffs had to hear about the Warriors cause Cyrus sent a emissary to talk to Cleon. and havin 120+ members dont sound like a small time click to me(on the game they was small time but we talkin movie
) and the Warriors had to make noise to get invited to the meetin.
if the Warriors or any gang did do somethin big every gang in the city woulda heard cause of the DJ(im assumin every heavy gang listened to the radio,if u notice,) 8)
its so much gangs on the Riffs network, Masai probly couldnt remember who the Warriors was

Re: Who are the Warriors?
Maybe masai didnt know who the warriors were because he never used the search engine.
Type "who are the warriors" and your question will be answered.
Theres some excellent points of view in some of the older threads. It might seem like a pain to wade thru 80 pages of questions and observations, but its worth the time.

Re: Who are the Warriors?
i think youre all looking at this the wrong way. i think hes saying this in either a derogitory way, like "who do the warriors think they are and why do they think they can do something like this without suffering the consequences," or in a way that a leader would talk to his followers when hes trying to get them pumped up and ready to do anything like hunt someone down.

Re: Who are the Warriors?
I agree, The Riffs knew of The Warriors, but they didn't know much beyond their turff and the name of their leader. Masai's line is derogatory and helps to tell us how outnumbered The Warriors are by letting us know that they are relatively small (compared to other in The Riffs' network).

Re: Who are the Warriors?
I also figured that maybe Masai knew about their names, but not actually what they do. Like I said previously, Cyrus is the the type of man who probably studied every gang from head to toe. He felt, well if we are going to unite than I have to know about my fellow brothers. On the other hand, Masai was more of like a militant soldier. He could care who you are, as long as you stay on your side of the fence. Masai was probably old fashioned and did not like outsiders, so he could care less about your status and where you come from. I am not saying that Masai wasn't smart or a good stradegest, but in his mind, it was all about the Riffs and nothing else. So he thinks "I don't care if you are a baseball furie or a turnbull AC, you are nothing to me. Its not until the end were Masai respects them, and who they are. True warriors not backing down from anything, and escaping the odds. Masai ow now realizes that there are some honorable men out there, and maybe someday he will judge and seek out justice in a more professional way. Therefore, like I said to Masai a gang was a gang, and you are my enemy. Thats why he said "who are the warriors?"

Re: Who are the Warriors?
Lots of good posts on this topic. Thinking along the lines of adam88 (Masai not liking outsiders), Masai may have been against the meeting altogether, but being the soldier that he is, respected his Warlords orders. Masai may have known The Warriors by name and nothing more. I believe he was asking for more info, like Swan asking Fox about The Orphans.
