1-5 Word Posts

Post by GonzoNYC »

We are seeing a lot of useless posts lately like "Cool man"  "That is great", etc.  Please note from now on the moderators will be deleting these kinds of messages and no private message will be sent about it.  It will just be deleted.  Happy Posting!  :D

Thank you! Nothing is more useless than scrolling through topics and seeing a bunch of agreement messages like "Yeah, sure." It's just a way to build up posts from absolutely no value of content. You get an overall impression that no one has anything substantial to say and the site is a lame as the Orphans, which it sure ain't.

Hey Gonz, thanks for pointing that out. I mean, like Warchief said before; "If you have nothing to coment on, [...] than don't post. It cannot get any clearer than that.

every time i scroll down topics...

there are sooo many one liners. to make this worse; the one liners are just copies of what other people have said.

someone will make a point (one line) and someone else will just write exactly the same one liner.

they just dont add any detail to their posts.

another thing that annoys me is the amount of posting that has no examples to back up their thoughts. they just say something like:

"luther was definately talikng to a riff on the phone"

or

"cochise would definatley be second in command"

and then no reason why, no examples, no nothing....

just a one line fact that means 'not much'.

OK, this topic is now a sticky. No more Mr. Nice Guy. We have had too many posts of the "Cool, man" "Me too" "That is awesome" variety lately. We will be deleting these as soon as we see them. It is very annoying to read a good post followed by 5 "I agree"s. If you agree, fine. But state why you agree...what are your views...discuss the matter!! It is mostly newbloods but the rule holds for all. We are starting to get a big rep and want to have the best forum possible. You have been warned! ;)

Smart idea. Everybody should put at least a paragraph, personal opinion, and a reason. This a great idea MODS. ;)

why does it say that the minimum amount of words in a post has to be 100 characters? i tried to make a post but it keeps saying this. is it a bug or have you made a new rle stating 100+ word posts?

For some reason i can post under 100 words for this one, but i can't in any other post

no turnbull_badger, posts do not have to have a hundred words. they just have to have at least one hundred letters and/or numbers. I can also see a bunch of new bloods putting a lot of !!!!! after they say something to get the 100 characters though. this is going to be interesting to say the least. :doubt:

I got a bit miffed by this last week, seeing people putting 'ye' or 'good' as a one word post. seems to be a waste of time to me. If i were gonna post i'd need to have summat to say. It's not up to me but why not just delete them. I know this means more work but it might get rid of em.

in the game forum they have that rule of no under 5 word posts.....to be honest what mainly bothers me is when people just write the thing that everyone writes.Take a look at this link for example which is one of my topics on the movie forum:

      http://warriorsmovie.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9017.0

at least 8 people said you would be scared too, even though i clearly said that at the beggining of the topic.it was pretty annoying to be honest.
