My first viewing was in 97 as well. I rented it out from the bargain section in my local video store a couple of weeks before they showed it on Moviedrome (So I was surprised when I saw all the tv edit footage restored at the beginning). I originally sought out the film after I read a reference about its cult appeal in Empire magazine.

we were so high when they showed the high hats my buddy went and his room and got out a hat like the ones they were wearing we were smoking some serious stuff i think it was laced because we were running around putting on face paint waving baseball bats and knives at each other acting like we were one of the gangs in the movie those were the good old days before i got married.
Ha, ha, ha. I guess you're pretty much saying that good times are over for you now that you're married. On the same line, how can weed be laced? That's the tripping experience of some real great weed you got man.
For some unknow reason my wife is starting to hate The Warriors, even my two little girls.
Cheers or better yet, pass it around

"This is what we fought all night to get back to?"
Some time in the middle of 1980. It happened in Guadalajara, Mexico. I remember all the guys in my turf talking about this great movie about gangs the days before in opened. So, two of my friends and I decided to go on opening day, smoked some joints, listened to some great Deep Purple and then headed to the movie theater. I was instantly charmed and the rest is history.
I still enjoy the movie.

oh man, I was a young one then.....I was just flicking channels before sleep and caught this dark and highly atmospheric subway sequence, the title 'The warriors' came up and I watched all of it, absolutly loving it. From then on i was hooked, the only trouble with the first time was the fact the telly was black and white. The emotion still came through though.
First time when I saw The Warriors was in 2005. I found out for the movie when I saw The Warriors game review in a gaming magazine. In that magazine the game was in a premiere section so when I saw the screenshots I was like "OMG, this is it! I have to play this game!" On the bottom of the page was written something like before we buy this game we have to watch the old classic movie.
So one day I asked my dad for The Warriors if there really is a movie. And yeah he watched it when he was a teenager and said to me that whole town went crazy because of the movie. They were all in those gang colors. Then I got the movie on DVD version.
