I've bought 100's of things off eBay and have only gotten ripped-off and hand full of times. The key is to review the seller's feedback rating and see what it says. If you're buying something from a seller with little or no feedback, be wary. Not that all eBay newbies are frauds, but I prefer to buy from people with 95%+ positive feedback ratings and 100+ feedback...

Are you serious? ...As for not getting your money back, I really don't see that, as far as getting ripped off.....IT'S EBAY MAN, EVERYBODY GETS RIPPED OFF!!!!!

I've been buying and selling on ebay for 4 years now and haven't been ripped off yet.  I did have one seller send something that wasn't as described and was able to get my money back.

As for the Warriors figures, I had been watching for a few weeks before making a purchase.  I won an auction of eight brawl figures moc - Ajax, Cleon, Cochise, Swan, Luther and three Furies (yellow, red/black and orange) for $236.00, which included shipping.  I honestly didn't expect to win with the bid and I consider myself very fortunate (paying just under $30.00 per figure) because I had been (and still am) watching auctions for these figures and some of the bidding is astronomical for one or two figures, particularly Ajax and Swan.  I'd like to collect the clean versions of those available, which appears to be more challenging from what I've observed.

I've had people try to rip me off on ebay, but it's only like 2% of the time.

The best thing to do is get yourself a Paypal account, and ONLY pay via Paypal.  ONLY bid on sellers' items when they accept Paypal.

If you don't get what you pay for, or if what you get is broken, you can ALWAYS file a claim on eBay and Paypal and you can get your money back in 2-3 weeks.

It's really simple to avoid getting ripped off.  AND something everyone should do is read the seller's feedback profile to make sure no-one else has had a negative experience with them.  Of course you do have to take negative feedback with a grain of salt...if feedback is overwhelimingly positive, and a very small percentage has left negative feedback, they're probably wrong in some way.  Just think of how many crazy people you have to deal with on a daily basis, and you'll have the same amount on eBay, just complaining about everything possible!

Out!

one thing i hate about ebay is postage! some of the bargains on ebay have huge postage prices, but other than that its fine! i've never been ripped off.  :D
