Specifics - What do you like about the film?

Post by Gramercy Riff »

For me I love New York in the 1970's. Its grimy, decadent, violent and strung out.

I also vibe on the subway and train system with the lights, sounds, grafittied trains and air of danger.

Another thing I groove on is the cinematography, the textures and lighting of the introduction are gorgeous and very reminiscent of Michael mann's "Thief". The Coney wheel is simply beautiful.

I'm into the vibrant and stylized street punk culture portrayed in the movie. Rumble man Rumble 8)

Yeah, his only good post was the one about Rosie O'Donnell. Besides that, he sucks.

I wish you would have left that one open. He would have gotten slaughtered! (By me included) But, I understand it had nothing to do with the movie.

Yeah it was a good call. Actually JP I do sorta like arguments. (when I'm in them.) I have a sort of, competitive personality. I'll never back down from a fight, argument, challenge, or anything of that sort. And I have a big mouth and like to state my opinion. But if it was going to cause a big giant thing, its a good thing he closed it.

I like it's "I can't get home" feeling. They're kind of like "trapped" and oblivious to the fact that everyone is looking fo them (for the  first bit anyways). It also feels "strung out" as Gramercy Riff said. This movie is so..............original.......classic... words cant decibe how good it is! I love it.

you make a good point Gramercy Riff, there is something about the whole gritty city life that makes it beautiful.  I guess its that whole "melting pot" thing, and the fact that the city can be your own personal play ground at certain times.  Its a place of Bohemians who express themselves making the city life full of different cultural wonders.  I am not denying the fact that the city can feel like a disscusting dirty, dark abyss of hell, but it has it few moments, that makes you feel "I love living in this jungle".  Good point.
