The saw series is a one of a kind. The plot is freaky, and ingeneous at the same time. Before watching saw 1, i thought they were going to be a series of events of people playing the saw game, but only one game comes out in each movie, i was kinda dissapointed to that, but the series are still freaky!!
Im looking forward to watching these saw movie, and the grudge 2, and the new texas chainsaw massacre.. good horror movies coming out.

OK, saw this over the weekend and I have to say that this is the best of the three, which is very rare for a horror sequal. I must say though that the Saw franchise turned out to be a true trilogy, not just a good movie with a bunch of mindless sequals. Everything gets wrapped up in this final installment, and we learn (through flashbacks) some important things about Amanda and just how long she's been with jigsaw and how she started. This was also the goriest of the 3 in my opinion.

The trilogy should definitely end with this one as both Jigsaw and Amanda die in the end and there is no one left to carry on Jigsaw's work. There is sort of an open ending for a character, but I don't think it's anything that can be the basis for a sequal (as I'll explain later).


The movie picks up where Saw 2 ended, right after Amanda locks Detective Mathews in the room. He finds the hacksaw but won't cut off his foot to escape. What he does instead is pick up a huge chunk of concrete and proceed to crush his leg and foot and then squeeze out of the leg iron. We later see in a flashback that Amanda came back to finish him off and he escapes and goes after her, but she winds up taking him out.

Meanwhile, Amanda has taken over for Jigsaw who is pretty much on his deathbed. The only thing is that while Jigsaw's "games" always gave the victims a chance to escape if they were willing to make the sacrifice, Amanda purposely fixes it so the die no matter what. We clearly see how insane she really is. One of her final victims is Kerry, who she sets up in a trap that litterally pulls her torso apart (even after she manages to get the key by reaching into a jar of acid).

The main story revolves around Lynn and Jeff, an estranged married couple. Lynn is a surgeon who is cheating on Jeff and popping pills by the handfull. Jeff has turned into a drunk since the death of their son who was hit by a car. He spends his time in his bathrobe pointing a gun at the mirror making believe he's gonna kill the guy who hit his son. Amanda kidnaps them both. Lynn's game is to keep Jigsaw alive until Jeff completes his game. Amanda puts an explosive collar around her neck and it will detonate if Jigsaw's monitor goes flatline.

Jeff's game is going through a bunch of rooms confronting the people involved in his son's death (the only witness, the judge who set the guy free, and finally the guy who killed him). He manages to finish his game and now Jigsaw has promised Lynn she can go free. But Amanda refuses to release her and shoots her instead. Jeff comes in just as that happens and shoots Amanda with the gun Jigsaw left for him. As Amanda lays dieing Jigsaw tells her that this whole time being with him has been her test, to see if she was worthy to carry on his legacy, and she has failed. After she dies He tells Jeff he has one more test for him. He could kill Jigsaw or forgive him and let him go. Jeff proceeds to cut Jigsaw's throat with a buzzsaw. Before he dies Jigsaw pushes the button on a tape player and tells Jeff on the tape that he had kidnapped his daughter and locked her in a room that only he knows about and her air is running out. He has failed his test, GAME OVER. Jigsaw dies and the collar around Lynn's neck explodes. Jeff realizes his uncontrolled anger and thirst for revenge has now cost his wife and daughter their lives.

Saw 2:It sucked, the only good part is when they went back into the bathroom.

well personally i think its a load of bs but i want to go see it anyway as im a big fan of the other films.

In our local news it was said that ambulance crews were called out to 3 different cinemas because people had fainted in the movie.

Me and the missus went to see this at the weekend. I've not really been interested in the previous 'SAW's' (only saw a bit of the first one), but she wanted to go see it, so what could I do?!

Anyways, I was hooked from beginning to end! And I can see why people would faint at certain parts of the movie... As soon as it starts we see a foot get mangled up good and proper... and what about that unfortunate prisoner bloke that had to pull those chunky metal hoops out of his hands, legs, back and jaw if he wanted to survive a bomb blast?! I remember thinkin' at the time: "I don't think I can watch this." But I did and it was all good.

Nice twist at the end, too. Poor old Lynn and Jeff. Arrr. 

Go see it, and I guarantee you'll be flinching in your chair!

I wish i was 18! i've seen one and two and i think they are brilliant, they're the best films in its genre. but i can't see 3 because i'm not old enough! damn you BBFC!

I just bought it today, just to complete the trilogy (I have all 3 on DVD). It was definitely the best one. More violence, better story, better traps... hell, it was even the longest of the three. Jeff was actually pretty cool, just too violent and angry.

Detective Eric Matthews was easily my favorite character in the series, though.

Even though she walked back after she was beaten, it doesn't show him being killed. Therefore you don't really know if he died. In other words, he pulled a "Lawrence Gordon".

Yeah, you're right. I hope he didn't die, but who knows?

This is weird Saw 4 is in production now. Also Jigsaw the guy who plays him I mean is in a contract for 5 movies? So wonder how that will turn out. It would be awesome if Saw 4 ended the series and Saw 5 was a prequel of some sorts.
