Little Warriors
Little Warriors
Hey did the Warriors make anybody go out and form a group of Lil' Warriors. Not a real gang mind you, I mean after you saw the movie, did any of you guys run around after calling each other Swan or Ajax?
Well, after my friends and I saw The Warriors for about the fifth time, we all decided to cut the sleeves off of our jean jackets and draw the Warriors name and insignia on the back thinking we were cool and tough. Let me tell ya, I took one from my mother that day! The funniest part is when my buddie, Gordon went home and came back with an orange winter vest. You know like the body design of the Michelin Man. It was hilarious!
But the dumbest part was when we all decided that we were all cool and tough enough to wear these things outside the neighboorhood. You have to remember, we were around 10 or 11. We went to a movie (Porky's I think it was) and to make a long story short, I got my butt handed to me by some 16-year-old.
Igot my butt handed to me. Me. Nobody else. Typical kids, I take a shot and they're all like "Let's get outta here!" lol.
Anyways did you guys ever do something like this, or am I alone on this and just revealed too much?
Btw. I hope this doesn't qualify as talking about gang activity.
And has anyone really taken a look at the Warriors tag? I could be seeing things, but I thought I could make out the shape of a kid in the "i". It's a silouette of a kid with an afro. Hinton, maybe? It could be an homage to Sol Yurick's original characters from the designer of the tag.
Then again, the feet are too big. It's just an "i".

lol yeah I used to do that kind of stuff after seeing certain movies, especially this one. I didn't really get into any fights over it though since my neighborhood was pretty much out in the boondocks so it was a one guy gang I guess lol I remember when I was like 9 or 10 my one friend used to get tall grass then light it and act like he was smoking then went and told his mom he was smoking "weed" and she got the wrong idea lol
Re: Little Warriors
Well I wouldn't say that I started a little group, but I guess you could say that there are certain friends that relate to the characters, or seem to capture their essence and quality of the character. But I never replicated the film in real life. My hobby's of movies, and especially the warriors stay at home with me

Re: Little Warriors
i always used to do that kinda stuff with movies... since i saw the warriors for the first time when i was 18, i was a little old to actually pretend, but i do go around looking at my friends and being like "you're just like ajax" or something like that... that's one of the things about the movie that i love so much - no matter who you are, you can identify with one of them (at least one). it's makes it so much more universal...

Re: Little Warriors
O.k. that could be construed as talking gang activity. I know I started this thread, but let's abide by the rules.

I never really did anything like this, although i always wondered if any gangs like the warriors exist but i soon realised they arn't like that and most are just reckless and violent.

Re: Little Warriors
Well thats probably not true. The way we see the Warriors is how they react with each other. They're a street family, as close as brothers so obviously they're not going to be violent around each other! The gangs of NYC go back hundereds of years and they want to protect that way of life. Plus in th film they were out manned for most of the way so there was no way they were going to brawl (Appart from the Punks who seemed to fit nicely as fights go)Frank_Castle wrote: I never really did anything like this, although i always wondered if any gangs like the warriors exist but i soon realised they arn't like that and most are just reckless and violent.

Re: Little Warriors
What i saw in the film I thought they were sortof different to most gangs like they don't fight unless they have to and they don't hurt innocents, although Ajax is the exception. But i just ignored the game how they made them all reckless thugs but in the movie they probably were now i think of it, we just didn't see that.
