The Warriors in High Definition

Post by War Chief »

I have some good news, Paramount is releasing The Warriors on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray so you'll be able to watch it on whatever HD system you have! Unfortunately, they have only done the director's cut version at this time so perhaps we can start a petition for the original!

Cover art here.

Got into home theatre big time about the time the first dvd players came out (98 to 2000) and have a pretty nice collection of dvds (oldest son has been very good to me at birthdays and Christmas). Kills me there all somewhat outdated now with hi def dvds and blue rays.

Agree on the original one put on hi def. Would like to see them add 5.1 sound to that though.

Will maybe break down on the hidef thing someday but I just gotta spend some $ on a bike or my broke bike first. :(

Ah the Warriors. Never could stand that film. It's only time and fashion that stop it being regarded as a chav film. Imagine if it was made nowadays...replace the afros with hoodies and baseball caps

Hey War chief thanks for the info...I'm upset that its the Director's cut...and as someone had mentioned I also dislike the comics...it really destroys the upsetting look on Mercy's face, the sunrise and the view of Coney Island on a brand new day...I think they should include both versions in one (if there's actually enough room on a DVD to do that)...and include the deleted scenes on there...I was also disappointed that the DC didn't include that...

...and YES that loser who made that comment "chris 21" I believe thats his member name should be shot in the foot real badly...does his comment even make sense...because I don't think it does   :? he sounds like one of those people who try to sound smart yet he hasn't realized that he himself isn't smart!

I think im gonna hold on a while and see which is the more succesful of Blu ray and HD formats.  I dont want to be stuck with another betamax.

Sounds nice, but I don't have any HD stuff nor do I have a PS3, and it will be a long time before that happens. Thanks for the info though. 8)

This is great news.

While I have been excited about taking the next step to Next Gen DVD(Blue Ray is my bet even though I have been a Microsoft Xbox guy for years), I was worried that films that make up my 10 favorite might not make the next gen dvd market....

I'm glad to see The Warriors is; albeit if only the Director's Cut.

I would sign a petition for having the original put on High Def and while we are at it, lets ask them to use 5.1 sound on said dvd.

Thanks for the heads up.

if they really want to make money off of this, they should put 3 different versions of the film on like a 3 disc set or something like that. the original cut the directors cut and the Television cut.

High Denifinition version is appreciated but not the UDC but the whole TV version it would be more better than the last one!
