No Warriors?!?!?!

Post by theSleepiLizzie_of_2006 »

Imagine if Walter Hill never directed The Warriors and Sol Yurick never wrote the book...

What do you think your life would be if The Warriors movie/book never existed?  Do you think your life would've turned out differently or not? For the better or for the worse?  Please give your thoughts

Well i dont think i would have developed a taste for wearing leather vests if it wernt for this movie.  I try and sqeeze in at least one movie quote in every conversation i have.  I refer to a lot of my mates as "boppers", and i usually end most messages with "Be looking good".

So yeah, to some degree my life would be a little different.  Its not like this film has made me want to go out into the street and start gang rivalries or anything daft like that.  Without seeing this film, i doubt i would have wanted to visit New York.

I was around 7 or 8 years old when i first saw this movie.  I guess it was my first glimps into what happens outside while i was asleep in bed.  Even now, 25 years later, i think of the film when i walk home alone at night and im extra carful when i have to travel thru places that aint my turf.

And lastly; i got really bored at work a couple of years ago, so i sprayed a large W in the lift shaft.

Well, I like to look at it in another way.  You see, some where along the line, the message and morals of the warriors would probably be reincarnated into another movie.  It might be a totally different look and a style, but the essence of the warriors might be formed in a totally different aspect.  Its like when someone passes away, and someone you know reminds you of that person.  It maybe the same thing with the warriors.  If the movie was not created, its spirit might take a different approach to spread its meaning.  It is unevidable.

I'd would have turned out just the same...the movie doesn't have a big influence on me...although I must admit I probably would love new york 2% less if it wasn't for the Warriors.
I can't make it!
You sure?
Yeah, I'm sure.

Great topic.

I saw ALOT of films between the ages of 6 and 14 that have had a major impact on me and The Warriors was a very important piece at that influential time of my life. I remember the exact theater, although it is no longer there, where I saw the film with my cousin at the age of 11 and coming out of the movies with an amazing feeling inside.

You know it's really weird, but The Warriors have become a big part of my life. I relate it to everything, think about it alot (oh puhlease) and come to this forum everyday. My life would actually be a lot different. It's really hard to explain.

Yeah thats the way I feel about them too. Like I said I always looked up to the warriors. For some reason they inspired me. They also became a big part of my life I just don't know how or why. It was a good movie but its still unexplained for me.

Both of you are right. Thats the way I see it too. I don't know why but it made me pretty tough even though it wasn't real.

I know that many people worldwide have been influenced by the warriors, and i think that the movie has really marked the whole decade ( the 80's ).
