The Wongs

I am new to the board and have a question. I saw the movie in the theater the very first day it was released in the US. This was before it was pulled and edited. There was a scene, when the Warriors were in a grave yard and they were talking to a gang who called themselves the Wongs. Anyone else see this version? Can this version be pruchased?

Thanks

Welcome.

A few days ago we were wondering how many unedited versions are out there of which we have no knowledge of. The interesting thing about the one you mention opens another Pandora box. The question I ponder now is whether such version exists. Let's hope somebody in the forum knows.

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the Wanderers? They meet a chinese gang called The Wongs in a graveyard to ask for help in a rumble against an all black gang.

right, because m.p. is right! the wong's were in "the wanderers" not "the warriors" the wanderers were looking for allies against the del-bombers, an all black gang. they had all the local gang's meet em at, what was actually a vacant lot, or just a lot next to the subway, not a grave yard. (strike 2) one gang at a time. the wong's didn't wanna join anybody, hence the line "don't f*** with the wong's!"

I have an unedited copy and it does not have the wongs scene you are asking about

Of course, The Warriors is far superior to The Wanderers but is a good film. I've noticed that The Wanderers DVD and the CD soundtrack (pretty banging) are going cheap in various places at the moment.
