well i have tried to do one before but it was too close to the last one so il do it now its been 2 months or so
rules

first round    i need 4 judges and 8 contestants 4 pairs of contestants will face each other and 4 winners will emerge

semi final the four winner will battle of in pairs and thw two winner will be our finalists

final the 2 winners of the semi finals will face they eac have to submit their story and the rest of the forum members have to vote to decide who wins

1.No game or Movie crossover
2.up to 1,700 words
3.Be creative
4.Get in before deadline
5.Use any gang

Wouldn't you only need four judges for the first round - one for each pair of contestants?

I actually prefer the topic battles. They can lead to some damn interesting pieces of fiction, especially when the topic doesn't lend itself well to "Ajax beats stuff up for a page or so, then the Warriors have a party and the story ends" type stuff.

EDIT: Scratch what I said before, I want in as a contestant. I just can't resist the allure of a fan fic competition.

heres an idea cochise why dont you judge them all it would be simple like if you dont get any judges within
5 days you be the judge and cut it right down the middle with rules like
nothing related to the game
or.....
has to be involved with a certain gang with different fan fic battles.
or somin like that if you get no judges is all.

One topic across the board - all contestants write on same topic and face off against each other. New round = new topic.

Good idea. Last time, I had to think up a topic for each battle. And some people might not do as good on one topic as oposed to another. We should have 3 differetnt topics therefore for the 3 rounds.

I might not be able to compete also due to my exams. I'll be cramming in studying time.

Here are a few things I would suggest for fanfic competitions:

The contestants send their entry to their judge via PM. The judge posts them both after they are both submitted and declares a winner - that way nobody sees the other entry until they're both in.

Missed deadline = automatic forfeiture. Sometimes we do this, sometimes we're lax on it.

One topic across the board - all contestants write on same topic and face off against each other. New round = new topic.

Ultimately, it's your call since you're the one starting this, but I think these are generally good guidelines.

I don't like that via PM the judge the story. It doesn't seem right.

Here are some rules:

1.NO game crossover or Movie Crossover
2.We can have three different topics( I agree with Oxygen)
3. We can use any gang u want
4.Misses Deadline u are disqualiflied(So obvious)
5.Story can be 700 words or longer.
6.Be Creative come up with your own ideas

ok guys i have settled on the rules so no more ideas please i have tried to take a differemt rule from each of you and complied them in together

but still i need two more contestants to start things but so far i need 3 more judges if i dont get that many by monday the 21st i will judge my self along with ajax_41 who has already signed up to be a judge
