If Ajax wasn't so concerned with taking a piece out of the police woman's hide he would have noticed she left her bag on the bench which probaby had the key to the cuffs in it. It took so long for the cop car to come he could have gotten himself free and been out of there in no time.

hey thats a preety good find, i never really noticed or thought about that. if the keys were in there anyway. if not maybe he could have found something else useful like peper spray and maced her forsing her to stop blowing the wisle and then cowboy and snow would have arrived before the cops

Or.....if he was a bit stronger, he could've escaped with his arm still handcuffed to the bench.
I wonder what the rest of the Warriors would've said if he had turned up at the station dragging a bench along behind him.

I would totally run in there, fists swinging, and knock out all the cops even if they're shooting at me and free Ajax with my super strength and then fly a few times around the world and connect with some fine ladies, because I'm SUPERMAN, b****!
* Ahem * But seriously, I wouldn't.

I don't think I would save ajax, just because it's the COPS, man! They were already trying to lock up every gang in town, so if I went back there, I'd be risking my hide even more than if I was just a normal kid.
If it had been a rival gang using a woman as bait, then yeah, I would have gone in, all fists of fury and whatnot...but not the cops. Ajax is awesome and all, but I don't wanna get put in jail for trying to save him...

And get either DEAD, life without parole, or the death penalty for killing a cop??? No way to treat the rest of your family.
would you save AJAX?
cops are human too. just because they have guns and back then they didnt need to worry about violations, doesn't mean they would use them right away.
just like being able to talk your way out of anything. but everyone has to cooperate. First of all, the witnesses should get the rest of the group IMMEDIATELY and then run over there. But not looking like you are going to fight or angry, but with the expression of curiousity.
Like, "Hey hey hey, Ajax what's going on? what have you done?"
"Hello officer(s), what's going on here?"
that kinda of talk is used to keep the cops occupied as you try to narrow the distance between you and them.
meanwhile everyone should spread out a little to the point where some of you could get to the cops blind spot. 9 out of 10 cops would ever pull out their gun in a situation where your crew behaves and talks calmly, respectfully and reasonably.
then when their guard is down, the ones behind the cops act first, and everyone needs to be FAST and merciless. With luck some of you will already have the cops restrained, unarmed, or better. the key is to knock them out/kill them as quickly as possible with little noise as possible.
the other key is NUMBERS. The Warriors could have ovewhelmed and end up victorious in freeing Ajax and escaping. It's POSSIBLE. Yeah it's a risk but with everyone working together and with the right plan, you can do anything. besides by succeeding, I feel Ajax would feel closer to the rest of group, especially Swan, if they saved him from the horrible experience of going to jail and maybe even his life.
yeah there is the risk of arrest and maybe even kills, but they are always a team. Through fire and rain they should stick together, especially when one of them needs them the most.
You see I think Ajax is misunderstood. He may seem like a lone wolf and he did want to be leader, but that doesnt mean he can't learn the values of unity. Ajax already values loyalty, otherwise he wouldn't even bother with the gang. He just needed that one lesson, and be saved by the consequences of that lesson, but the others denied him that..
they gave up on him too soon.

The main flaw in your logic--is the fact that on a night that has already had one murder---anyone walking up to the cops with "colors" on by definition is already looking to get arrested---reasonable or not--and Cops don't travel in singles ---and you are not going to get "behind" a pair of them plus undercovers---you just walking up there would get you "covered" immediately---and IF you were lucky they would just tell you to walk on and mind your own business or join him---your senerio would NOT work in most of the cop situations I have ever seen.saner wrote: just like being able to talk your way out of anything. but everyone has to cooperate. And they did NOT have "numbers---two extra gang members and one already in handcuffs--would never make an escape, at least I can't see it happening ever.
I don't think they gave up on Ajax at all---Ajax created his own problems. and he didn't have a problem with unity-and he worked well within the gang--he had a problem with authority, he didn't recognize it unless he knew you could pound him better than he could pound you.

The only real lesson Ajax needed to learn was to do more thinking with his big head and not his little one!!

yeah, it was just bad luck and decisions. If Swan wanted, he and Fox could have convinced him to not do something stupid like that. yeah Ajax is not very bright but even he could wake up to the possible danger of walking into a scenario that seems all too convenient. With the thought and warning of 'undercover cops', I doubt Ajax would take that risk if Swan and the rest took the time to let Ajax know of the consequences of being wrong about something, especially in the situation where they gotta get back home first and foremost.
And even if Ajax still wouldn't listen, Swan and the rest should of accompanied him. or at least bargained with him into waiting until they reach Coney Island before looking for some broad, reminding him of the fact that every gang in New York is out to waste them, etc. etc.
yeah what's done is done but there must of been a solution that could have convinced Ajax to not make that mistake.
grrrrrrr. I wonder if that upcomjing videogame will offer unlockable paths/endings, that would be cool if characters like Ajax could make it through it all. after all, the paths not taken still exist in an alternate dimension.
oh hey I know! Swan should of punched Ajax. then run while taunting Ajax about not being worthy to be Warchief because of his weakness for women. that'll definitely convince Ajax to follow Swan. the faster Swan runs, the farther he'll lead Ajax away from trouble. And even when Ajax catches up with Swan, at least Ajax will definitely not bother going all the way back just for a woman if Fox and the rest assault him with reminders of cops, gangs, etc. yes I can see it working!!!!! sometimes the simplest solutions could save the day.

you know the whole escape with bench thing and reuniting with the gang would be a great, hilarious and memorable result.
