Today marks the 35th anniversary of The Warriors. Walter Hill’s movie was released to audiences on February 9th 1979 and has gone on to become one of the world’s favourite cult movies. The movie caused protests when it was released with many thinking that the movie would cause an uprising of gangs in American cities such as New York. Thankfully, that was not the case and over the last 35 years many people from around the world have enjoyed the movie and will continue to enjoy it for the next 35 years.
This website itself is also now around 12 years old, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making it a success and for contributing news, photos and fan-made materials that make this the number one destination online for fans of the movie.
It’s unclear whether Paramount plans to release any special anniversary material for the movie, but rest assured that I will post any news here and on Twitter @warriorsmovie should I hear anything!
