Lisa Remar Talks About The Warriors and Music Career

Lisa Remar, the daughter of actor James Remar who played Ajax in The Warriors, has been speaking to The Warriors Movie Site to talk about the movie and her new music career. Lisa says:

“I actually watched the movie for the first time last year and really enjoyed it! Even though “Ajax” is not the best father figure I have a really sweet dad in real life and it’s funny to see how different he is from many of the characters that he plays. My dad has told me that The Warriors was what launched his acting career and that he feels really blessed to have been part of such a great film.”

Having only watched the movie recently, she agrees that the movie is a timeless cult classic. It must be pretty strange to watch The Warriors and see your dad as one of the lead characters —  he’s not exactly a good role model in the movie! Lisa also talked about her music career, where she performs under the pseudonym of Nana Felix. She’s just launched a new EP called “Splendor” which you can watch on YouTube or below.

Lisa goes on to say that:

“As for my music career I plan to make more music, learn more about music, collaborate with more artists and perform as much as possible!”

Fans of The Warriors in New York are invited to see Lisa perform on Thursday 16th July at Fontana’s Bar whilst fans on this side of the pond can catch James Remar at the London Film & Comic Con from Friday (if you can get tickets!).

Irwin Keyes Passes Away

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of actor Irwin Keyes at age 63. Irwin, perhaps best known to many as Hugo in The Jeffersons and Ravelli in Rob Zombie’s horror film House of 1,000 Corpses, also played the cop that clubs Ajax in The Warriors in a memorable scene from the movie. A family member on Facebook posted:

“It’s with deep sympathy that I’m writing this post. Early this morning my family was informed that our beloved uncle, brother, teammate and friend, Irwin Keyes has had his last curtain call. He is now an angel for us all and will be watching down. Our family wishes to thank all of you who have been a part of his life. He will be missed very much.”

I wish to pass my condolences, along with those on behalf of The Warriors global fan community, to Irwin’s family and friends.

James Remar Attending London Film & Comic Con

Fans of The Warriors in the UK have a rare opportunity to meet James Remar, who played Ajax, as he is attending the London Film & Comic Con between the 17th and 19th July 2015. James is offering photographs and autographs for £20 each. The website references his appearances in Dexter, Django Unchained and Aliens but completely ignores The Warriors. I am sure that he will have some photos from The Warriors to sign.

New York Warriors Video Game

How many of you have seen or played this game? It’s clearly based on The Warriors, especially the Baseball Furies. The game itself, New York Warriors, was released in 1990 by Virgin Mastertronic for the Amiga and is a scrolling shoot-em-up which doesn’t bear much resemblance to the movie unfortunately. However, the game does take cues from the movie as it has a wide and colourful range of gangs from the Sluggers (Baseball Furies) to Assassins and Killer Klowns.

James Remar Says Hello!

Check out this signed poster that long-time supporter of The Warriors Movie Site, Robert “T7” Colomer, managed to get signed from James Remar – aka Ajax! I’m sharing this as it’s for all of you who regularly visit this site and the forum. A huge thanks to Robert for thinking of us when he got this signed! Appreciate it brother!
